¿Cuándo es tu cumpleaños?
-Mi cumpleaños es el 2 (dos) de mayo, en primavera. ¿Cuándo es el tuyo?
-Mi cumpleaños es en otoño, en noviembre.
¿Cuándo es el cumpleaños de tu madre?
-El cumpleaños de mi madre es en verano.
Es el 9 (nueve) de agosto. ¿Cuándo es el de tu madre?
-Su cumpleaños es el 10 (diez) de febrero.
   ¿Cuándo es el cumpleaños de tu padre?
   -Su cumpleaños es el 30 (treinta) de enero. Es en invierno.    ¿Y el tuyo?
   Es el primero de septiembre.
  Remember to use el primero with the first of the month!
    
  4. B. ¿Qué te gustaría para tu cumpleaños?
  4. B. What would you like for your birthday?
Me gustaría. una bicicleta, unos libros, algunos juguetes, algunos juegos, algunos discos compactos, un tocador de CDs, un televisor, un reloj, un gorro, una camiseta, un suéter, una  computadora o equipo deportivo. ¿Y a ti?

-Pues.... Mi cumpleaños es en verano. Me gustaría tener ropa y equipo de natación.
¡Puedo ir a nadar!
  Me gustaría means I would like as in a desire but not something for certain
  ¡Puedo ir a nadar! combines several things you have seen. Puedo means I can, ir means to go and nadar means   to swim. Can you guess at the meaning of the sentence? Don't forget to look at the other words for help! It says   it is summer. I can go swimming!
  
  4. C. ¿Qué tienes?
  4. C. What do you have?
Tengo una computadora y una bicicleta. No tengo un tocador de CDs. Necesito un reloj y también equipo deportivo.
Mi hermano tiene algunos juegos. Tiene muchos juegos divertidos. Nos gusta jugar esos juegos en invierno. Podemos jugar muchos juegos porque hace frío.
Mi hermana tiene un reloj bonito.
Mi familia y yo tenemos muchas cosas. Somos una familia con suerte.
Tengo is from the verb tener, to have. The forms are: yo tengo, tú tienes, él/ella/Ud. tiene, nosotros tenemos, vosostros/as tenéis, ellos/ellas/ Uds.tienen. Don't worry too much about the verb forms for now! You will learn more later. Do you remember that you saw tengo que? It means I have to do something.
Con suerte means lucky .


    
  4. D. Para mi cumpleaños.
  4. D. For my birthday...
Quiero comer torta de chocolate con helado. En mi fiesta, mis amigos quieren comer pizza. ¡No queremos comer fruta, verduras, pollo o pescado en la fiesta!
Quiero beber. agua, leche, jugo, refrescos.
Mi madre quiere beber café con leche desnatada.
Mi padre quiere tomar agua con gas.
Jugo means juice and is used in most countries but zumo is always used in Spain.
You can really impress your parents if you know this! Leche desnatada is skim milk. But, in many countries outside of the U.S., there are very few special orders on food and drinks in restaurants.
However, agua con gas is a very popular drink in Europe! It is carbonated water and people may drink it all day long. There is much more water than pop available.

  Mis amigos son Javier, Alba, Carlos y Cristina.
  Javier y Carlos son mis amigos.
  Alba y Cristina son mis amigas.
  Los cuatro son mis amigos.

  Personalidad
Javier viene a mi fiesta. ¡Él es divertido! Él es servicial y generoso.
Alba viene a mi fiesta también. Ella es inteligente y chistosa.
Carlos viene a mi fiesta. Él es musical y artístico. Le gustan los deportes y es muy atlético.
Cristina es muy amigable.

Físico

Javier es alto y delgado. Es moreno.
Alba es alta también. Es rubia.
Carlos es mediano. Es de pelo castaño.
Cristina es baja. Es pelirroja.
Venir means to come. The verb is very similar to tener above. The forms are: yo vengo, tú vienes, él/ella/Ud. viene, nosotros venemos, vosostros/as venís, ellos/ellas/ Uds.vienen. Don't worry too much about the verb forms for now! You will learn more later.
Es moreno /de pelo castaño are ways of describing various shades of brown in the Spanish-speaking world where many people have brown hair. There are other ways, too but in general moreno is for darker, and castaño is a medium brown.
