12. A. What are you like?

I have dark hair, brown eyes, and dark skin.

12. B. What would you like to be when you are older?

My best friend is very musical. She loves to sing and dance. She would like to be an actress on Broadway. If she becomes an actress on Broadway, she is going to practice every day. She is going to wear costumes. Practice in American English is spelled practise in the U.K.


My brother is very smart. He loves science and math. He loves to read science fiction and to see movies about the future. He would like to be a scientist. If he becomes a scientist, he is going to work in a laboratory. He is going to wear a white jacket/coat. In the U.K. this subject is called maths


My neighbor is very curious. She loves nature. She is interested in rocks. She would like to be a geologist. If she becomes a geologist, she is going to work outside. She is going to wear boots. Neighbor (American English) is spelled neighbour in the U.K. My classmate is very kind to animals. He loves all animals and nature. He also loves science. He would like to be a veterinarian. If he becomes a vet, he is going to work in a veterinarian’s clinic. He is going to wear a white jacket/coat. I am very curious. I like to solve mysteries and read novels. I would like to be a detective! If I become a detective I am going to bring Bugsy on all my adventures. I am going to wear a hat and use a magnifying glass. What would you like to be?



12. C. Tomorrow, this weekend, next month, next year.

I am going to school tomorrow. You are going to your grandparents' house this weekend. My teacher is going to travel on Monday. His girlfriend is going to visit him next week. My classmates and I are going on a trip next month. Next year, we are going to take a vacation. Vacation (American English) is holiday in Australia and the U.K. In English, you can also state the future a bit more formally by using the verb will, for example: I will go to school. You will go to school. He/She will go to school, etc.



12. D. In the future.

We recycle everyday. We recycle glass, cans, paper and plastic. In the future, the earth is going to be damaged if we do not take care of it. Do you recycle? What else can you do in the future to protect the earth? We are going to drive our cars less. We are going to walk more and take more public transportation. We are not going to litter.
