Karen, Cuernavaca, Mexico
Karen's favorite foods are corn soup and pizza. For breakfast, she sometimes eats chilaquiles, eggs, juice and milk. After school, she likes to eat an ice cream or a popsicle. If she goes to a restaurant, she likes to eat melted cheese with tortillas (queso fundido). But the foods that she likes the least are papaya and pork meat.
Karen is in the 5th grade of school. Her favorite teacher is Paty, her History teacher, because she is very funny. Karen doesn't have much homework but she has to help her family at home. She has to bath her dog and to clean her room. Karen watches TV in the evening and she likes The Simpsons and another program very popular at the moment with youths in Mexico, Rebelde. (This is a sort of soap opera for teenagers.)
Her best friends are Tamara and Rebeca, two 10 year-old girls. Together they love to talk about interesting things and to play soccer. Her friends make her laugh a lot.
Something interesting about Karen: she is afraid of ghosts, she wants to study Political Science when she grows up. If she could be someone else, she would like to be Sister Juana Inés de la Cruz, a famous poetess and nun from long ago who dressed like a boy just so she could go to school to learn. Karen’s favorite color is pink, she likes clothes from Tommy Hilfiger and Gap and she likes the scent of the flowers.
