Amanda, U.S.A.
Amanda is 9 years old and lives near Chicago, Illinois with her mom, dad, little sister and dog, Missy. She is in the 4th grade. She thinks Math is hard and she usually has a lot of Math homework! Amanda’s favorite teacher is Miss Grunt because she is calm and explains things very well.
Amanda has relatives in the Philippines and sometimes eats Filipino food but, in general, she eats like many kids in the U.S.A. Her favorite foods are steak and pasta. On her birthday in May, she eats noodles for good luck and of course, she has a birthday cake! She often goes out to dinner for her birthday.
On the weekends, Amanda and her friends hang out at the mall or go to the movies. On Sundays, the family goes to church and visits her grandparents. Amanda really likes to listen to music, especially Rock and Hip Hop. After she finishes her homework, she can watch TV. She also loves to read everyday.
During vacations, Amanda’s family goes on vacation, usually to warm, sunny places like Mexico or Hawaii. But at home, Amanda helps with chores like cleaning and washing clothes.
Amanda would like to be a teacher when she grows up. If
she could have only one wish it would be for her family to always be healthy.
